Sega Genesis Vst Free Plugin
In their webpage ('Genesis Pro Update') when you click 'read more' you open a link recursively pointing to the same page. There is a forum opened 17 days ago, with latest posts written 17 days ago by the developper. Maybe next year Genesis Pro will be a good product, and maybe my 1€ investment will be good. Play all the 16-bit retro SEGA Genesis/ Mega Drive games online in your browser including all the titles, Sonic the hedgehog games and hacks, streets of rage, x-men, spider man, batman, golden axe.
Interesting stuff:
-32 and 64 bit VST
-Will work on Mac
-Supports 16 midi channels controlling a YM2612 and an SN76489
-Imports TFI, TYI, VGI, and reads instruments from VGM/VGZ files
-Will also export VGI instruments
-Supports DAC sample playback

VOPM - Synth Vst Plugin: Price: Free: VOPM is an emulation of the Yamaha YM2151 (OPM) 4 operator FM sound chip. OPM chip was popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. Videogame fans will most likely be familiar with the Sega Genesis. Apr 25, 2013 2612 Blog has released YM2612 VST, a freeware emulation of the Sega Genesis YM2612 sound chip in VSTi plugin format for Windows. This is a VST that uses code which emulates the sound chip found inside of the Sega Genesis/Megadrive systems. It’s the closest you can get to the real thing currently without actually circuit bending a Genesis.

Thoughts.
This is a pretty great freeware Genesis FM emulation it's still a Beta version but I haven't really ran into any serious bugs with it, besides the Fl Studio version not working. I'm pretty sure the same guy who created this made the YM2612 vst which was pretty cool as well but this one is more fully featured. If imported TFI's are a good standard to judge by this synth is very comparable to AlyJamesLab's FMDrive vst, TFI files sounded about identical on each.One thing this has over FMDrive & VOPM is a PSG synth feature which allows you to copy an FM envelope to a PSG channel which works really well layered with the original FM sound. This technique was common for alot of Genesis soundtracks.
